The Bible speaks of three different kinds of leaders in every local church: elders, deacons, and members. Elders (also called pastors and overseers in Scripture – see Acts 20:28 and 1 Peter 5:1-2) are the head and heart of the church – men responsible before God for the church’s theological and spiritual vitality. Deacons are the hands and feet of the church – the practical leaders who oversee various functions of the church’s ministry. Members are missional Christians who love Jesus, are committed to their church, and serve according to their abilities so that more people can meet Jesus.

Strategist. Entrepreneur. Writer. Husband to Leigh and father to 4 gregarious children. Graduate of the University of Oklahoma and Reformed Theological Seminary. He led a small band of people to envision and plant the Coram Deo Church Community in the fall of 2005. He’s the leader of leaders within Coram Deo: preaching, vision, church planting, leadership development, theological formation. In his spare time you’ll find him playing basketball, reading, or taking a walk with his kids. He takes great hope in the fact that though he is a great sinner, Christ is a great Savior.
Justin Curtis

Implementer. Coach. Troubleshooter. Husband to Tracy and father to two little girls and one infant son. Graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Covenant Theological Seminary. He became a Christian through Coram Deo and has played every leadership role since then: member, missional community leader, deacon, church planting resident, elder. He’s the “kingly” leader within Coram Deo: strategizing, planning, overseeing staff and leaders, bringing cohesion to the mission and vision. In his spare time he loves exercise, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Dusty White

Shepherd. Counselor. Trainer. Husband to Jaci and father to four children. Graduate of Crown College. He came to know Jesus through the missional influence of a neighbor family. He’s one of the “priestly” leaders within Coram Deo: discipleship, counseling, marriage preparation, Redemption Groups. In his spare time he enjoys coaching youth baseball, getting his hands dirty on the family farm, and lamenting the absence of good, locally roasted coffee in Omaha.
Ethan Burmeister

Designer. Futurist. Theologian. Husband to Erin and father to four children (two before the vasectomy and two more after the reversal). Graduate of Iowa State University. He pioneered the work of missional church planting in Omaha by launching Core Community Church in the fall of 2000. In 2011, he led that church into a merger with Coram Deo. He’s one of the “prophetic” leaders within Coram Deo: teaching, preaching, theology, pastoral counseling. In his spare time he enjoys walking and praying with his wife, reading good books, and smoking his pipe.
Paul Gardner

Disciple-maker. Coach. Missionary. Husband to Michelle and father to four children. Graduate of the now-defunct Dana College. He left a lucrative physical therapy practice to help Coram Deo launch missional communities all over the city. He is responsible for equipping healthy, gospel-centered leaders to multiply healthy, gospel-centered missional communities. In his spare time he enjoys camping with his family, smoking meat, and talking about Bellevue.

He assists the pastors by helping to oversee multiple areas: Porterbrook Omaha, children’s ministry, missional community development, and leadership training. In his spare time he enjoys laughing with his family, reading, and finding others who realize the greatness of the sport of soccer.

Mike oversees design and production for everything from print and visual media to Sunday worship gatherings. He is a graduate of Grace University and is married to Jenny, who is way out of his league. In his spare time, Mike stays busy chasing his three kids and listening to good music.

Lindsay’s organized mind keeps the Coram Deo office running smoothly and efficiently day in and day out. She assists Pastor Bob and Pastor Dusty by managing their calendars, coordinating communication and projects, and overseeing day-to-day details. Lindsay is a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In their spare time, Lindsay and her husband James are designing a log cabin they hope to build from scratch on an acreage near Omaha.

After finding success in the corporate world as a CPA, Carley joined the Coram Deo team to help give leadership to finance and operations. She oversees all financial administration and also assists Pastor Justin with ministry coordination. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In her spare time she enjoys salsa dancing and chatting with friends over a cup of coffee.
