Hannahisms

1. A saint is not a person without problems. A saint is a person who doesn't allow his problems to abort his ministry.

2. A friend is a person who never believes the best things you say because he knows you're a liar, but never believes the worst things you say because he thinks better of you than that.

3. You can only be direct in peoples' lives to the point that they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you love them.

Kendal - Thanks for the Hannahisms. There have been great to read to this point. This week, I like #3 the best. So much truth in that statement when it comes to shepherding people. Walker preached on speaking 'truth in love' at some point last year... and since that time... I have been convicted that one cannot bring correction, rebuking, or pastoral guidance until they have fully established genuine/authentic love for that same person.

Well, I take that back. One could, but it would not be recieved well and would sound judgemental and hypocritical. And that is not a win for God's kingdom.

Justin, I was totally thinking of you and Tracy for #3. Thanks for being such an inspiration! :)

I am loving these Hannahisms...but I must ask about Platitude of the Week...It seems like it has been months. Has that been discontinued?

We had plans, Patrick. Grand plans. They seem to have been put on hold (read: Sabbatical).
