i was wondering which picture would make it to the finals?! Glad ya'll enjoyed it! God is good! And it appears that on BGT prayers are answered in a variety of ways!
This is getting a little silly. Kendal, you know I'm loyal to BGT, but with the exception of the recent Lent posts, this blog has become dominated by baked goods. I think it's time to apply that old football adage: act like you've been there before.
(while still being thankful for God's provision, of course)
Suz, my conundrum with your comment is this: You have taken the time to comment on the BGT posts about how there should not be a BGT post, but you have not commented on the Lent posts, which are the ones you seem to be okay with. Do you understand my puzzlement?
Nope, I'm with Suze. Enough is enough. Keep BGT to yourself. It is edifying to no one but Kendal, or so the pictures show. I'm actually beginning to be concerned for Kendal's health. I only see pictures of him lounging around while eating high fat, high sugar foods and I remember a while back that he had been on something like a month long peanut butter and jelly binge. Also, the Lent posts aren't so much inviting comment as much as personal reflection, at least for me, and I felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to back Suze and call a spade a spade.
Thank you Suzanne and Andy. I would add that it isn't merely the fact that baked goods Tuesday is getting repetitive. It is that the repetitiveness and the accompanying language seems tirelessly self-promoting. Both the posts and the nature of baked goods Tuesday seem antithetical to what a church blog ought to be. This seems especially salient when juxtaposed with a lenten post that proclaims the following about Jesus' humility, "He had nothing to gain; yet he gave up all he had." It is one thing to accept with thanksgiving a gift of food, but to practically beg for it is another.
Consider this a post both in response to lent and a post morally (yes, morally) opposed to the very essence of baked goods tuesday. All seriousness intended.
as ivy put it one day when i was around "these are actually much needed and deserved breaks." kendal does work his tail off gets lots of stuff done. he deserves some indulgence for a job well done. and, quite frankly, i think the man needs some meat on his bones, especially during the bitterly cold months of a nebraska winter.
also, what "should" a church blog be? and once you define that, how has coram deo ever been about what regular churches do?
Is someone really questioning whether it is okay for Kendal to post this on the blog? If so, why? Good for Kendal to have a sense of humor and good for the people who bring this stuff to him. Humor and humility can co-exist.
Whoa, we are getting a little too serious. I was mostly joking with my post. I don't have any moral problems with BGT. I know that Kendal works hard. I know the breaks are needed on Tuesday. Sorry if you read my post as more than sarcastic. I love CD, and its blog (and snow days for teachers).
sorry to take it so serious. just trying to defend a hard working man. andy, my post was not in response to yours, i knew you were kidding. i was responding to the anonymous poster who said "all seriousness intended"

Who takes the weekly picture of Kendal? Does he have a tripod set up?

I think it's hilarious, awesome and entertaining.
Long live BGT!

Anon,
You obviously haven't partaken in BGT. It's for everyone.
And it's funny.
I believe Kendal has given up quite a bit to be where he is. Let the man eat some cake!

Ditto to Andy. Take it easy, guys.
...and he's still a twig.
