Weird Sight of the Day
So I know there are some weird people out there, but this one took the prize for today: I saw a guy who lives in the apartment complex next to our office was walking his cat this morning. I mean on a leash, like it was a dog.
I know cat people can be kinda strange... but honestly... is this normal? I have never owned a cat (and never will), so you guys will have to tell me if this is normal cat-owner behavior.

Dude, that is odd, but apparently not unheard of. Carolyn saw someone outside her apartment complex walking a cat, then proceeded to ask said person where they got their cat leash. I told her she was weird for wanting to walk her cat. Just get a dog.

As a matter of fact, no, she does not. Which is weird. Two cat walkers in the same city. I really hope they don't band together and lobby for a cat walking park.
Unfortunately, Kristen and I have two cats, which each have their own leash. However, the best we've been able to do is carry them outside, sit them down, and still have to watch them because they can wiggle out of the harness. There is very little cat walking...mostly cat sniffing around, cat scratching, and cat freaking out and running back to the house. Our cat leashes have not seen much action in a very long time. So a big high-five to the dude walking his cat...i didn't know it could be done.
Tyler taught one cat to play fetch and the other one gives high fives.
That's why I'm marrying him.
No Bob, cat walking is not a normal enterprise. I have two cats myself. I could never imagine walking them! They're afraid of their own shadows! The most they do is lay around, fight every night when I'm trying to sleep. and meow incessantly when they can see the bottom of their food dish. You should get a cat or two! haha
Cat walking is normal although not traditional. You can get a cat collar and leash at any PetsMart. However walking your cat might be a sin, so you should investigate this further; there might be something in Leviticus about this.
Are you certain that what you saw was not a cat walking it's person?

Hmm... never even thought about it from that perspective. But knowing what I know of cats, that definitely makes much more sense. I would be willing to revise my perspective to acknowledge that what I saw was actually a cat walking its person.

This isn't directly related, but it reminded me of a funny t-shirt I saw a few days ago. It said, "Cats are like potato chips - you can't have just one."
