Church on Christmas?

Coram Deo is a young church. Much of our congregation is made up of young families, young singles, and college students. We're not even having public worship services yet. And we may not be for a couple more months.

This year, Christmas falls on a Sunday. So here's the question: should we have a Coram Deo worship service on Christmas? Post a comment and let me know your opinion.

Don't ask, "Will we be public yet?" or "What time of day would we be talking about?" or any other questions like that. The answer is: I don't know. Just register your opinion about having church on Christmas!

Oh, and no anonymous posts. If you choose to use Blogger's option of "posting anonymously," put your name in the text of your comment. If you have an opinion, own it!

It's funny. I think I'm more committed to the shaping of this church sometimes than I am with the ministry I'm involved in right now.... (yikes! I should work on that!)

Acts 2:42-47 (yeah, you're actually going to have to search your bible to find out what this verse is saying) has been motivating my prayer life a lot lately. It seems actually to be the passion of my soul; all that I've been longing for in a Christian community.

On the basis of this verse I definitely think y'all should meet on Christmas. Come together, share Christ, share life. Christmas is a time for celebrating Christ. Celebrate it together. Our culture is so focused on everything that Christmas is not supposed to be about. So, be a community that celebrates Christ not Santa.

Oh, by the way, my name is Ryan Beck and I'm "ownin'" this comment baby.

P.S. Here's something by Relient K that's been affecting me lately.

Apathetic way to be...

......but it's so hard to see the reality that the end will be the end of things and our hearts are all we get to bring so let's go ahead and make them worth something....

I say no church on Christmas, but a service on Christmas Eve might be cool.

Judy and I will be with family in Lincoln or Wichita so we would vote no chuch. One request would be to invite those with no family in the area to our individual homes.

I'm with Lane. No service on Christmas day, but something on Christmas Eve would be cool.
